pledging

How long is the pledge process for frats usually? Does the duration vary among the tiers? Like do DKE Elmo etc. have longer pledging than some of the mid/lower tier frats?

just because you're top tier/bottom tier doesn't mean pledging is harder or easier this is ignorant.

Not ignorant at all. It could be argued that lower tier fraternities have a higher risk of their pledges dropping (or something of that nature) during pledging because the reward of initiation isn't as much as it would be in a top tier fraternity.

^^ people who pledge a low tier WANT to be in that frat. Same with any other tier so that makes no sense. Why would someone spend money on something they don't want to do or have to do.

My question was never about how hard pledging is. I clearly asked how long is pledging for frats, and if it varies between the tiers.

Trying to answer the question you asked, I believe IFC mandates that official pledging be finished around the second or third week of April. That just means you'd have to be initiated by then. Different fraternities have different policies on length of pledging for them, some as short as one day pledging to others taking the whole time. As far as difficulty of pledging, tier doesn't necessarily correlate with that. While top tiers might be harder on average, some are less time consuming or easier on other aspects. Lower tiers might also be less difficult on average because maybe they focus on different things during their pledging process. Really, it just depends on which fraternity - but either way you'll be pledging which does take at least some time.
