is it frowned upon to contact a sorority first? i know it's allowed in informal but does it seem desperate?

i don't think it's frowned upon, it's just not necessarily going to help much. they seem to have preset lists of people despite how "open" and "casual" the ISC makes it seem (yet another thing the ISC is slightly shady about sigh)

If you're hoping to rush like Theta or Pi Phi then you would probably know if they wanted you already. Most of the other sororities have open events tho!! Not desperate to contact a sister you know in one of those to find out more. Don't think that the first two I mentioned are the only good options, either

Pi Phi/ theta are not doing informal. They were eligible but aren't doing it.
