how are legacies truly perceived?

Incoming first year, definitely looking to rush. How do sororities view legacies coming through? Is there a push to recruit them or are they judged harder? Also, how do sororities view girls rushing them if the girl is a legacy at a different sorority?

at most sororities, being a legacy will guarantee you will get an invite back to philanthropy after round robbins. but after that, it's about whether you connect with the girls there. i've seen a ton of girls get cut by the sororities they had legacies for, UVA is not like some schools in the south where legacies are really pushed to be recruited. so, being a legacy helps, but it won't guarantee you a bid by any means.
just be yourself and the rush process will work out how it's supposed to! you should find the place where you feel most comfortable and not pressured to be someone you're not!!!
