fall fraternity informal

by:

I'm a rising sophomore interested in doing fall informal. Can someone tell me what the process is like? I did formal last spring but it didn't work out. I don't really know anyone in the fraternities that will probably be participating so I am wondering if that is a problem. I am more concerned with finding a fraternity that I like rather than with their ranking.

I may be wrong about this, but I have never heard of informal rush for fraternities. Are you sure this is a thing? I'm pretty sure uva restricts fraternity recruitment to the Spring so it is easier to keep tabs on conduct/hazing/etc.

Why didn't it work out last year? Have you worked on your own issues?

wtf is this? How tf would he know why it didn't work out last year do you think they give you a summary after you get cut? If you can't answer his question don't be rude for no reason. That said, I honestly don't know anything about informal mens rush/have never heard of it.

Sorry I don't go there and I am curious because my boyfriend didn't end up in a house last spring. He would never ask a question on GR so I am doing it! (I realized I said sophmore not second year!).

This is on the IFC website: There is a brief Informal Rush in late September for men who are upperclassmen and/or transfers, as well as a Formal Rush in late January that is open to all undergraduate men.

Just wondering what the process is like in the fall.

Mostly it's just taking guys who are transfering from other schools but who already know guys who are brothers because they went to high school together

It's not a real "rush"
