Not being in a sorority isn't the end of the world. Swallow your pride and get over it and move on with life.

Have you been able to identify what went wrong?

I know plenty of people who transfer after Greek life doesn't work out for them. I was one of them. Don't feel bad:)

That's why the school administration requires rush in the spring rather than the Fall. If it were in the Fall, then they would loose more students (and their tuition money and their room rents) through transfers. Happens all the time at other schools. The whole "acclimation" rationale is a smokescreen.

It's always about the money.

IF you drop out, should you get your money back?

sry i disagree.....give it your all for the last semester. Sometimes it will work one of 2 ways:

1. all your friends are in the same sorority (and you still get invited to go to their events, etc.) you're close enough that you think you can rush again, and you will be able to know so many girls you can join their sorority.

2. Your friends and you have been majorly distant. In this case, things are going to get worse. Which I would suggest leaving.

I've known a 2nd year who rushed and joined a top tier (keep in mind all her friends were in that sorority), I also know 2-3 girls who transferred because nothing is getting better.

if i go in to rush again second year not caring about tiers THAT much (just not really wanting gphi, trisig or sdt) will i still have a chance even if i'm not best friends with a lot of girls in that chapter?

Being in a sorority is great and all but there is way more to life. Get out there, there is more at UVA. Get it together

If it's any consolation the same thing happened to me. Didn't want to join one of the "bottom three" so I dropped. I couldn't see spending time and money on a sorority that didn't feel right. You're not alone, a lot of girls dropped.
