did serp really get a good pc?

by:

From what I heard, they got 31 kids and stole some tentative Kappa Sigs/Chi Phi's. Anyone got any clarity on this?

To say they "stole" kids from Chi Phi and Kappa Sig is a bit of a stretch, but they cross rushed. Shouldn't be a surprise, they're in the quad, you could put a frog in that house and it'd still have appeal.

Yeah apparently SERP and Chi Psi crushed it this year in rush due to an unfortunate typo on the rush information sheet given to first years at the information session. It was somewhat of a rush-job and an intern didn't realize that Sigma Phi and Sigma Chi as well as Chi Phi and Chi Psi had been switched, leaving hundreds of first years to believe the SERP and Chi Psi houses were home to Sigma Chi and Chi Phi, respectively. This caused a lot of first years to visit during open house who would normally be interested in Chi Phi/Sigma Chi, and SERP/Chi Psi pounced on the opportunity. They obviously couldn't win every rush battle, no fraternity can ever pull that off, but SERP managed to snag a decent number of Kappa Sig cross-rushes while Chi Psi pulled in a handful of Elmo and Sammy kids. I for one am excited to see where these new pledge classes take these two fraternities, and I'll definitely be stopping by both of their bid day parties.

That's hysterical, if true. Also gives fuel to the conspiracy theories that OSFL rigs the system to their wishes.

Yes, SERP's pc is probably about on par with chi phi's. We'll have to see which is stronger in the coming months.

I'm writing my research paper on the correlation between rush and brexit. Can I cite the above mentioned theories? Thx

Their nationals is essentially paying for their whole pc's dues this semester in order to attract people because they were at such low numbers and couldn't afford their house.

Which clearly worked btw, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't mind not paying dues either

one good pc is not enough to compensate for an entire fraternity, sorry

Numbers in a PC really means nothing FYI.

So you're basically saying if someone gets 3 people in their pledge class that doesn't meant they are awful? Makes 0 sense

no i think hes trying to say that numbers arent the only thing that makes a pledge class "good." Like if you get a pledge class of 25 kids, but all the kids are losers that no one else wanted, then that wouldnt be a good pc. Youd rather have a pledge class of 15 guys who are all super cool, than a large group of scrubs.
