clothes for rush?

by: yes, i am desperate

I know Theta and Kappa have a lot of rich girls, and you probably need a lot of really nice, expensive clothes during rush to catch their eye. Are other lower top-tier sororitys like this?? I know some DDD, pi phi and DG girls who wear normal, moderately-priced clothes that are still cute, but also I know everyone steps up their game a little bit for rush. I just don't wanna be frowned upon during rush for not wearing all designer everything. Thanks

TriDelt is just a bit different than the rest. Not much cross rushing as the other two.

if they aren't going to let you in specifically because you aren't wearing expensive/designer clothing, do you really want to be a part of that group? just sayin. be yourself (and dress like yourself) when you rush, lest you commit a lot of time/money/energy to a group of women who doesn't know/like the real you

You might use one of the many coaches that have relationships with clothing companies. They will put together a sequence of outfits that helps you tell the story of the best you as targeted to sororities you visit over the course of rush. Be aware that the coaches cost more than the rental of fashionable clothes.

But how do you "tell" "your story" by wearing someone else's clothes?

Heard that last year one PNM got dropped after it was discovered that she had a coach and the clothes were rented. Seemed like an honor offense.

Hahahaah I'm sorry but this is so extra. Wear what you want. Wear your own clothes otherwise people will know you're being fake. The sorority girls have looked you up probably and will be able to tell.

Every good coach leveraging wardrobe suppliers has subcontractors to manage PNM's social media. It's a win-win situation.

I think the girls who are making fun of using a coach probably had one but didn't tell anyone. It is a lot more common than anyone knows. Everyone's deep, dark secret.

And it's not an honor violation. Get real.

Can you do this a la carte? I'm interesting in getting some new clothes but don't want to get locked into a contract if I don't pref at my favorites. Doesn't seem worth it then.

Only work with coaches that offer a refund if you don't get a bid or have one of your parents put a performance clause into the contract so that you don't have to pay the coach's full bill if you don't get into a certain level of sorority.

I am worried that I will get a bid to a good sorority but that my pledge sisters won't be anything like me or the older girls and the reputation and status will change.

If you have a coach and are asked about it point blank during rush, do you have to tell the truth according to the honor code?

Sisters are not allowed to ask that. Nor are PNM required to volunteer that information even if asked.

You need to cool your jets. In all honesty, all sororities are pretty much the same. They all have date functions and mixers and you get a big etc etc. Just relax and wear what you feel good in. It's not THAT big of a deal.

"cool your jets"

Thanks grandma. I got it.

I would step up my game. If you're wearing nice clothes you feel your best and put your best self forward. Make sure you feel awesome in what you're wearing. If you are worried about your clothes it shows. This is if you're aiming for top or upper middle tier.

If you're happy with bottom tier then it doesn't matter.

I feel like I don't really know "my" style yet.

Don't worry. A lot of people change their style after coming to UVa and then again after finding out what sorority welcomes them into sisterhood.

So the friends you pay for, then tell you what to wear?
