dke nationally will soon close or be absorbed

DKE is apparently on life support. They have more closed chapters than open ones. The only chapters that are middle tier or higher are at UVA, UA, LSU. The rest are bottom tier. I understand DKE is in negotiations with Lambda Chi Alpha and Sigma Phi Epsilon to merge with. I am curious what letters do DKE's here rather have go up when the DKE letters come down forever.

This is coming from a Deke.

You must be out of your mind...

Financials are solid for Deke nationally even though there have been many lawsuits recently.(who hasn't) Even though many of our chapters have closed doors due to liberal student bodies, Deke still remains strong at many other chapters other than the ones you have named.

DKE has been researching out for over a year now. I have heard rumors though my fraternity nationals also and I am not Lambda Chi or Sig Ep. DKE had reached out to several fraternities and Sig Ep and Lambda Chi are the finalist.
DKE is not the only fraternity that will soon not exsist there are probably going to be at least a dozen in the next decade that will be merged with other stronger fraternities or just discontinue.

Will DKE UVA try to become a "local" fraternity? Does nationals own the DKE house so after the merger will either Sig Ep or Lambda Chi own the house?

I think these rumors are true. Delta Phi (Elmo) almost merged with another fraternity a decade ago but it never happened. I think it will happen in the near future, though.

With the huge liability insurance costs plus all the multi-million dollar judgements from lawsuits you will probably see at least a dozen fraternities merge or just close down within the decade. DKE is lucky that they have some strong national fraternities willing to absorb them in a merger.
