final hours and bids- fraternities

So how the hell do final hours work with bids? Or can someone lay out the process of the last day of rush in general? If you show up to one house first they know you arent gunna pick them so do they not give you a bid? Do you for sure get a bid at your first choice of you make it that far in the first place?
