phi mu or alpha omicron pi?

by: wondering

Is UVA ever going to get Phi Mu or AOPi? They just got Tri Sigma, so that's why I'm wondering. I always thought the more sororities, the better. (more girls can participate/find their place, etc.)

Tri Sigma was here before, they were only gone for a year. The old chapter still has Instagram and Facebook pages! Phi Mu was here too but have been gone for a while. Their house was sold and is now a rental. Not sure what it would take to get them back.

I don't think it's likely that Phi Mu will return because they've been gone so long and sold the house. Tri Sig left for a little while, renovated the house, and made an effort to completely rebrand itself. I guess it's possible that AOPi could come and start from scratch? I think the desire to do it would have to come from National tho

Tri Sigma never technically left. National just cleaned house rather than pulled the charter -- if they left, they'd probably never be invited back.

It starts with the school. When the ISC decides they want another sorority they invite several to make presentations. Then invite the one they want to start a chapter. Seems they are not interested in expanding anymore until the current batch are doing well. So I don't see any new ones in the forseeable future.

which ones aren't doing well? Even the so called, "bottom" ones, may not be hopping, but they still have interested sisters.

I would say if you're interested then approach ISC. They are the gatekeepers.
