If you rank within the tiers then basically you've created a 1 x 16 grid.

The point of the 4 x 4 was to NOT rank within tiers because there are such small differences between them and it eliminates the pettiness of ranking. One person might rank on hotness and someone else ranks on sisterhood. I mean, how stupid can you be?

Woah y'all need to chil, the poor girl/guy was just showing how they think the sororitys rank within each tier.....A tier is a level, there can be sub-tiers within each one showing the differences between individual sororities. I guess they hit a nerve with you two, offended about where your sorority ended up within a tier maybe? It seems silly to call them "stupid" and "an idiot" for doing exactly what everyone else on this website does (ranking all of the sororities, petty or not).

The point was to keep it simple. Adding "sub-tiers" makes it even more confusing and petty. Top is top. Bottom is bottom.

I was cut from Pi Phi after the first round. They are highly selective because everyone wants them. At least last year they did. I think that makes them top tier. I like where I ended up but would love to have been a Pi Phi.

What are the rankings by selectivity then? I was under the impression that pi phi and tri delt are similar when considering sl selectivity and ranking

Kappa Alpha Theta: 250,000 members
Delta Delta Delta: 238,000 members
Kappa Kappa Gamma: 235,000 members
Pi Beta Phi : 230,000 members
(tie) Kappa Delta: 230,000 members
Delta Zeta: 220,000 members
Alpha Delta Pi: 215,000 members
Alpha Chi Omega: 210,000 members
Zeta Tau Alpha: 207,000 members
Thought it was interesting that the top tiers are also some of the largest nationally.

that is interesting, out of curiousity I looked up the rest
DG 205,000 members
APhi 200,000 members
Gamma Phi Beta 200,000 members
Sigma Kappa 160,000 members
Tri Sig 100,000 members
SDT 70,000
so the other tops DG and APhi are not too far from the others. had no idea Chi O was so big.

Makes sense that Tri Sig and SDT are bottom tier on grounds, they're bottom tier nationally!
