how often do 2nd years get bids?

Rushed last year, got to a few second rounds but dropped and still want to join a fraternity. Is it weird to rush as a 2nd year? How often can 2nd years get bids?

Rush more houses, be willing to join somewhere less "top-tier" than the houses you originally rushed

helps to be friends with some guys in the fraternity first, but it's not like impossible or anyhting. I had two 2nd years in my pc so just be yourself and hopefully the group you want also likes you

was it weird/different when they were rushing? i.e. did they have a reason that they rushed as 2nd years and did they do anything differently than the first years?

Definitely rush. Most pledge classes have 1 or 2 second years, it's totally normal.
