i would love to see the kappa alpha frat on campus. not sure what frats are on campus since their instagram isn't as updated compared to panhellenic

the issue and main reason why you're not seeing new fraternities and sororities on campus is that the pnm pool (potential new members) is already so small as it is. because of the pandemic and all the implications that come with it, people aren't as interested in joining greek life. honestly, even before the pandemic, unlv was seeing a huge decline in students actually interested in a fraternity or sorority life. in 2016 there were nearly 400 pnms going through fall panhellenic recruitment. this past formal recruitment, there was around 170. if you add another fraternity or sorority, you're stretching the pool even further and making new member classes smaller for current chapters. either boot chapters that are there right now and replace them (which is highly unlikely as chapters fight for charters on campus to keep their national offices alive), or pray for more people to get interested.

We are entering into a rush recession. Gen Z is roughly 10-12 milliom less then the previous Gen Y so everyone across the country will experience a decrease in rush results. Many Nationals, both fraternities and sororities will cut back on their expansion and focus more on strengthen their existing chapters. Expansion only be warranted if their is a good opportunity, but it may not happen for a while.
