Sorority Rec Letters

Are letters of recommendation a big deal sorority recruitment? I didn’t even know that was a thing for rush until today. What if I don’t know which sororities I like yet? How do I know which ones to get recommendations for? Do I really need them, do sororities here really drop girls who don’t have them?
