Rush ZBT or Sig Chi? What’s the dif
by: Running manLooking for a smaller frat next semester to rush. Seems like ZBT and Sig Chi are very similar, which one should I choose and like what’s the difference?

Sig Chi is an established frat. ZBT has only recently gotten to mid tier, and were low low until this year when they got a house on Phillips St. They recruit anyone and everyone (They had 25 pledges with 25 brothers in the fall). These two frats are not very similar; ZBT is quite squidish while Sig Chi is more traditional.

To the ZBT kid tryna act like having 100 kids on a rush list is cool: every frat collects names. That’s your list of names. You probably bidded every kid on that list and ended with a pledge class of 25. Of that 25, 20 of them aren’t that cool. Bidding everyone you have doesn’t make you selective nor does it raise you from being bottom tier. Sig chi doesn’t bid everyone that walks through their door. They bid kids they actually like, not just because they need the dudes to save a dying fraternity like ZBT

I'm going to give my honest opinion before the Alpha Sigs and the other Greek Rank trolls jump out of the bushes and spew nonsense as seen above.
Both are solid middle tier fraternities that have their own unique vibe to them. Sig Chi and ZBT have their share of genuinely cool guys and squids but that's every fraternity at UMass. Rush them both and see which house you like the most. Don't listen to Greek Rank for anything, it's the dumpster fire of Greek Life for a reason.

Both of them are solid frats and you should consider rushing both of them. Like all frats they both have their upsides and downsides. Both fraternities are about the same size, have tight knit brotherhoods, and have OKAY sorority relations. Not good, not bad, just okay.
Sig Chi:
Pro: Established Alumni Network
Pro: Process ends a little earlier compared to everyone else
Con: Parties in a small cramped attic and is a force to get to
ZBT:
Pro: Newer Fraternity, good for ambitious PNMs
Pro: Better Party space
Con: Alumni network isn't as great due to it being a smaller fraternity in the past
