sigma kappa question
by: PNMWhile reading these discussion posts it has become overwhelmingly clear that sigma kappa has the greatest presence on this website...I didn't catch on at first but now I just get the impression that they are really invested in what everyone thinks about them. They're one of my top three sororities going into recruitment but the amount of self ranking on here is a mega turnoff because it's just so obvious. It just seems dumb that they're pushing that they're super wholesome and don't do looks-based recruiting yet they seem to be pushing rankings and reputations more than any other sorority on here..especially in posts pretending to be guys in frats :/ I'm not taking the rankings on this website seriously going into recruitment but this thing just rubs me the wrong way I guess. Does anyone else feel this way??

Advice: don't have a "top 3 going into recruitment". I did last year and on the first day I dropped a house I thought I wanted to be in because I ended up hating it. Moral of the story is you don't know what the sororities will be like until you are actually in recruitment. I wish you the best of luck!

Seems like another sorority trying to pretend to be a pnm. It's well known in the Greek community that there's only a few people from every chapter use this site, SK included. Their few people are just more vocal. Girls in every chapter, yes again including SK, don't take Greek life seriously enough to use this website as much as everyone claims. Select few girls. Ever thought about how all the hate about SK gets on here? Other chapters also having a select few girls. Starting in Greek life using Greek rank is not a good look.

Honestly I'm in SDT and we know SK is "above" us or whatever, we just don't care lol

There was an issue with a few very specific sigma kappa girls that were using this site a lot and were spoken to about not using it. There was also an instance where there were a few very nasty posts about sk on this site and many girls heard about it, which I believe spiked the chapter using this site in order to defend themselves. I'm not denying girls in Sk use it, however once someone started saying that SK "ran this site" suddenly a lot of new posts that seemed to be written by sks appeared. While I'm sure a lot are from sks themselves, someone definitely has been writing fake posts and comments to make it seem like they use it a lot more than they do. You can see the clear spike in comments a few months back where suddenly a million "self ranks" appeared (they've since been deleted) and comments promoting sks started popping up everywhere. So yes, sk has a stupid strong presence here but so does a girl (or several) trying to make them look conceited.

Yes they use this site, but anyone who knows the real umass Greek tiers will tell you that they are a close second to kappa or equal to kappa. They suck on here but it doesn't change that they are one of the best sororities. Also Greek life at umass is joke so why is this even a thing

While I have friends in sk and think it's a great chapter, it's still very obvious that what the op said is true. Even if it's just a few girls in the chapter, it's more than any other, and their posts tend to be more self-promoting than just about UMass Greek life in general. The opinion of sigma kappa on this website is definitely inflated from what it actually is on campus. In reality, there is no competition for rank between sk and kappa, I usually hear that sk is considered equal to sdt and in some people's opinions, ranked third. I am in a so called middle or lower sorority and I'm happy about it cause there's no worrying about pushing our status. Again sk is full of beautiful and great girls. But to anyone else in any other chapter visiting this site, what this op wrote is very true.
