what kind of girls does each sorority look for?
by: UMASSHii, I know there are other threads that probably talk about but I wanted to start one of my own to get a clearer answer in one place. What kind of girls is each sorority looking for at umass? Im a freshman so I'm a newcomer. I don't know much about greek life so I'm looking for an honest answer! I'm gonna keep my mind open during rush, I just want an idea. And yes it would be cool to be an a "top" sorority but thats not my only priority. Thank you!

When you go through you'll see that every sorority has a vibe and most likely they'll want the girls that also give off a similar vibe. Like if you're preppy or super into crafting, philanthropies, etc. you'll probably bond the most with the sorority that has that similar interest (SK or Chi O). If you think you're more of a chill, hipster girl, you'll probably bond with different sororities (SDT or AEPhi).If you're kinda a mix of the two as well as really pretty you'll probably join another (Kappa). AXO and IGU are both really great and they have girls that are unique and do their own thing so it's hard to categorize. If you feel like you could genuinely be friends with the girls in a sorority when you go through rush then you've found your house.

I don't think it's dumb for me to learn what i can ahead of time before committing to being in a sorority and paying dues for four years. Thanks though.
