rushing sophomore year

by: jp202

I'm transferring in this year as a sophomore and I was planning on rushing. Is it going to be harder for me or should I be fine? (I'm a girl by the way)

Rushing as a sophomore is more difficult, yes. Almost always, a house will prioritize a freshman over a sophomore if they have similar qualities. However, it is not uncommon to rush as a sophomore.

Hi! You'll be completely fine to rush as a sophomore. Last year every pledge class was at least 1/3 sophomores and closer to 1/2. Unlike some more serious southern schools, the chapters at umass don't have preference over freshman compared to sophomores

DON'T WORRY! Every chapter at UMass takes many sophomores

You'll be judged extra hard because you're a sophomore.

Don't listen to the people who say it's harder as a sophomore. Being a northern school with a smaller Greek system, it's the same as freshmen. I rushed as a sophomore, never got dropped from a house and therefore got my top choice. Half of my pledge class is sophomores. Just be yourself and go for it, good luck with recruitment!!
