new sorority

heard we are getting a new sorority. any ideas who it might be?
a few we don't have: dz, alpha phi, phi mu, zta...

ZTA colonized in 2002 but their national closed the colony the next spring because their numbers had fallen. Apparently ZTA had been selected to colonize even though they had no plans in place for housing, and once the new members realized they weren't going to have a house anytime soon, they started dropping. By the time the colony was closed, they were down to half the NMs they started with. I doubt they'll ever try again at KU.

With SDT being leased out to ATO for the next few years, and SDT apparently coming back afterwards I highly doubt there will be a new sorority on campus. SDT and Pan agreed that there would be no sorority to replace them in the contractual agreement for their absence from campus. Plus, the housing situation for greek life is a mess already.

Exactly, not enough houses for the ones we already have, so how could there possible be another sorority and give them a house too?

From someone on the exploratory committee, nothing has been decided yet. We first have a contract with SDT. Their nationals will decide within the next couple years if the atmosphere is right for them to come back. If so, they will come back before we add another sorority. However, this exploratory committee is simply doing the research, reaching out to the nationals of nationally prominent sororities to see if there is any interest. If SDT decides the timing is not right for them to come back, another committee will be put into place to decide which sorority to add and when. There won't be a new sorority before 2017.
