Is it me, or did a lot of houses lose legacies this year?

Legacy status really doesn't mean much any more since there are so many who go through recruitment. I would guess a lot of PNMs who are legacies know they aren't guaranteed a bid anyways so they don't feel like they have to keep a house on their pref list if they aren't that interested.

You mean a lout of houses CUT legacies. GPhi cut a 4th generation legacy and so did Pi Phi. Really, really sad.

no rhyme or reasonthis year to who took or cut who! Some got some unattractive legacies and some dropped their cute ones!

Yet Pi Phi took a girl who couldn't even get in a house last spring recruitment (no one would give her a bid) and had a horrible gpa in highschool and low act score. why? Because her best friend was in the house. smh

I always thought freshman were preferred over sophomores anyway, especially a sophomore with bad grades. Wonder how much her super rich friend paid to get her a bid lmfao.

houses have to meet sophomore quota idiot, even if that means taking one over a "much better freshman"

Ya like WTH is going on. I'm sorry but sororities get such a bad rap for this. They are so superficial when a C student sophomore gets in just because her best friend is a girl in the house with money

Sophomore quota? That's just sad. Sounds like reverse discrimination to me. Pass up a high quality freshman for an illiterate sophomore? Go figure

By: what?
by: ^^^^Jealous?

@what? The sophomore "quota" is generally about 5 or 6 girls per pledge class. Considering most houses took at least quota, which was 58, and most houses took quota plus, which was around 10 more girls, for a total of 68 girls per pledge class. So if you couldn't make it in as a freshman, don't be all butt hurt that a sophomore who had much more difficult odds, made it in. You can always try again next year as a sophomore too.

You say the sophomores had worse odds, but this particular sophomore only got in because of her best friend who recruited her. This girl had a very low GPA, so low she couldn't even rush as a freshman, and didn't get a bid spring recruitment either (from one of the bottom houses who had to fill quota). So her odds should have been zero, but she got in a top house because of her friend who most likely paid her way in.

"paid her way in" because that definitely happens..... Also, PHA makes a sophomore quota. Sophomores are in a different pool then freshmen. Taking a sophomore has no affect on freshmen quota.

By: you're all dumb
by: actually

yes her friend is extremely wealthy. How else do you explain how this girl made it in a top house when last fall her gpa disqualified her from even rushing and this spring not even one of the bottom houses wanted her? yet she got in a top house that supposedly stresses GPA. You do the math.

Lol @um calling a girl a psycho when she points out a low IQ sophomore was selected over high quality freshman. Look Idk why that makes some one need to be in a mental institution but we all pre-score and score PNMs so we all decide. It is not that private. And surely if a deal were made under the table to let a girl with a horrible gpa in a house you wouldn't know either. But it definitely happens

First, sorry, the person above you is correct. Membership selection is private.

Second, houses are not given the IQ scores of PNMs, so it is more than slightly stupid of you to pretend you know some girl's score.

Third, just because YOU don't like some particular PNM doesn't mean that other houses don't like her.

Fourth, "um..." didn't say you belonged in a mental institution, but given your inability to use logical reasoning and your lack of ability to use the English language properly, you probably don't belong in college either.

1. Membership selection is NOT private. We all give scores and we all decide together.
2. ACT scores and GPA's are pretty equivalent to IQ so yes the scores are all known ahead of time.
3. Liking or disliking someone personally has nothing to do with gpas. A gpa can be seen, there is no hiding it. When a dumb sophomore (low gpa) gets in over a very smart freshman, there is insider stuff going on. You sure do live in a fantasy world.
4. you are the most psycho person to ever get on Greek rank so surely you know all about mental institutions.
Give everyone a break and just go away.

Surely you don't think people are going to believe that all the sorority girls at KU give scores and decide together on PNMs. You're an idiot. Each house decides and they don't talk about it outside the house. That's PRIVATE membership selection. In other words, you have NO IDEA why any house except your own took or dropped any PNM,

You didn't say gpa or act. You said IQ score and it's true that IQ is not a part of the recruitment packet you get on any PNM.

There can be other reasons besides gpa for a person to be given a bid. A sophomore who started out in physics may have lower grades than a PNM who took pottery, DECA, and athletics her senior year.

As to your fourth remark, I'm still laughing. Are you in middle school or something? I don't know how else to explain such an immature comment. Come back to this site when you're in college.

Actually yes, all the girls who are involved in recruitment have a say, all of them. And you're right they don't talk about it outside the house but they do talk among themselves.
And you are wrong once again. She did not say IQ score she IQ, which can be measured by many things, ACT and GPA being one of them. And yes she did say gpa if you could even read. LOl This particular girl did not take physics I have to lol at this.
She said ACT and GPA and she took remedial math so I'm sure there was no physics grade to calculate. Also, if you could read, you would know she wasn't even eligible as a freshman because of her horrible gpa and act scores, PLUS couldnt get in a house last spring either, for the same reason. So once again Greek rank troll, you have no idea what you're talking about and you seriously should check into getting mental help ASAP

By: haha YOU are psycho
by: @haha You are psycho

You should look up what "psycho" means and what some of the symptoms are. You might be interested to learn that just having a different opinion about girls who get bids to sororities isn't one of the symptoms.
