If I do not have above a 3.0 GPA will I even be considered for any house at all during recruitment? or will I automatically be cut? When asking around I have gotten very mixed answers to this question.

Depends. If your parents are rich, if you're super hot, or if your best friend is in the house you want, you will still get in.

You have a better chance, but it's still not guaranteed if your gpa is south of 2.7

Depends upon your social skills and attire/appearance. Once in, I wouldn't advise dropping below a 3.0.

Don't be absurd. Show up looking presentably and with a good attitude. If you can not figure out that means, you shouldn't rush.

This isn't really accurate. Most houses, (almost all), cut below a 3.2 GPA. This is taboo to say, but if I were in your shoes, I would want to know ahead of time. You will absolutely get cut from Chi O, Gamma Phi, Theta, Pi Phi, AXO and Kappa. I'm not sure about the others.

That's very accurate. Houses with the top GPAs will definitely cut you because they want to stay on the top with their grades.

Realistically, you're screwed. Sorry.

You're screwed for some houses. I would still advise you to rush because I don't think it matters what house you're in this next year anymore so much. You might be happy

AGD, DG, SK, and tridelt might take you, since they have the lowest GPA. They don't have as high of standards as the others.

^, You should have a good shot with DG, AGD, SK, or Tri Delt...mabye adpi if you're low grades. Depends on who you are, but maximize your options and wow them during rush!

But those houses are raising their minimums as well.

Don't count out any house. If they are willing to take a chance on your grades, fall in love with them! If no house is willing now, make the best grades possible and try again in spring or next fall. College grades always supersede high school grades. And involve yourself in lots of activities so houses will see you can handle academics and social activities both.
