Neither house is very good at all but I would rather be an ADPi.

Seriously, they are both fine houses. Sure they are not "top" but that doesn't make either one of them bad. They both have a strong sisterhood and are very involved in there philanthropies.

Let's be clear here- you don't choose them. They choose you. You will be singing a different tune during rush week.

Also, I might add both houses look for completely different things during recruitment.

Specifically what do they each look for during recruitment? And since you seem to know a bit about this what do all the houses look for during recruitment? Can you list the houses and what each one specifically looks for?

I have the same question

I do know quite a bit about this. So my best advice is be who you are! Not who you think a house would want you to be. Then you will end up in the "better" house.

Yes but this is a huge decision and we are given very little time or exposure to all the houses to really make an informed one in the short time of rush week. Knowing as much as possible about a house beforehand instead of just what your friends say is a big help. Can you just give a brief summary? It would really help.

And I would refer back to my original answer, they pick you. You don't pick them.

You're saying a pmn has no choice or say in what house she gets?

You'll end up where you are meant to be- weather that be tri felt, a dpi, another house, or no house! Trust that

Thanks for answering the honest question I had it really means a lot to know how helpful you are. I didn't need psycobabble and you acting all hard not telling me just makes me distrust whoever you are and your power trip is actually quite disturbing.

Recruitment is a situation where young women have just a week to make a lifelong membership decision. It can be really overwhelming! There is really no great way to fully prepare for it. Like others have said, go with your gut...you will know where you feel comfortable and which women you connect with most.

All chapters on all campuses are looking for women with strong academics, involvement, an interest in philanthropy/community service, leadership skills and good social skills. Our letters are different, but really, all sororities are extremely similar in values and expectations of members.

The first person that responded said those houses looked for completely different things during recruitment, but you said they are extremely similar. so that sounds like a contradiction.
I don't see how girls I don't know and will spend maybe 5 minutes talking to will magically know more about me and what I want than myself.
What I'm getting out of your posts is you are telling me they pick me, and I have no say, so what you're really saying is "they pick their friends". I have read on this site and also heard this is true. Many of the houses are majority of girls from the same high school or hometown.

You have just proved this stereotype to the tee.

Recruitment is a joke. I got in a house last fall and I went with it even though it was not my first choice. I don't have much in common with the other girls and I know I would have fit in MUCH better in another house. Most of my friends are in the other house and I feel like I'm missing so much. They may pick you but that doesn't mean they make the right decision for YOU.

So a couple girls from panhellenic told off the pmn's that's a good way to start things off. Don't say you will end up in the house "best" for you. You end up where your friends are stop acting like it's deeper than that.
