transfer junior rushing

by: Lecymk

I transferred to kansas my sophomore year and I am apart of one of the university teams. I couldn't really rush at all because I had to adjust to my new workout/class schedule. After a year I am completely adjusted. I have nothing but respect toward Greek life and I am interested in rushing, is it too late to rush if I'm a junior?

Your options will be very limited. Unless KU implements an upperclassmen quota, most chapters don't want to take a junior during formal recruitment because it takes a spot of a freshman. A freshman will pay dues for 4 years, vs 2 years (in theory, unless she drops). Most houses don't want to risk that unless you have a sister who is currently in the chapter or you have a dozen best friends who are leaders within the chapter. You can go for it, it won't hurt, but just know that your options are likely to be limited, especially if you have a college GPA below a 3.3. However, I really don't want to discourage you, but just keep an open mind and don't get your feelings hurt if it doesn't turn out the way you hoped.

Even though what the above poster said is pretty much valid and true, just because your options will be limited, I'm sure that still leaves maybe even half of the houses who you'd have a shot with. It's not really toooooo rare, if you know what I mean.
