legacy

How much does being a legacy help you during recruitment? Or does it even help at all?

It will get you an automatic invite back to the house until the second day. After that, it means nothing. Also, if you go to that house on pref day, you are almost guaranteed a bid.

It will do nothing if your grades are bad. If your grades are alright you'll pretty much get a bid, unless recruitment is as cutthroat as it was this year.

Being a legacy meant absolutely nothing during recruitment this past fall. MAYBE you might get an invite back after the open house round, but anything after that didn't mean you would get a bid. Just about every top or middle tier house cut tons of legacies, even on pref day. Don't count on legacy status helping you. Period.
