What affects your chances the most?

by: .

Let’s say I don’t know any girls in any sorority, don’t have any letters of rec, but I have really good grades and I’m pretty smart, I can hold conversation well and am very kind. Would I still be at a disadvantage by not knowing anyone or having letters of recommendation?

letters of rec and knowing some girls are always helpful, but it’s only a fraction of recruiting.. just be yourself and i promise you’ll find your home!

Having gone through recruitment with a 4.0 GPA if you don’t know them from high school or country club 5-11 sororities will ALWAYS pick women they know first. Many of the other chapters are more diverse and conversations DO MATTER! Talk up your experiences and aspirations to be involved! Also express your excitement! That always helps!

As an out of state woman who went through FFR, I didn’t know anyone in any of the chapters either, had good grades, and very outgoing however now being on the other side of recruitment it is definitely important to have letters of rec so I would try your best to get some however letters of rec are definitely not everything so don’t be discouraged.

Honestly that was me. I knew nothing about greek life either which didn’t help. I assumed not having letters was fine and from being out of state. It wasn’t fine and I ended up dropping out because I was left with SDT. It happened to a lot of other people too. I would get a letter of rec and definitely send a video not an essay.
