It won’t hurt your chances at all! Believe it or not, most chapters take a good mix of both in-state and out-of-state girls for their pledge classes. I’m an out of state student who didn’t have any Greek affiliation or ties to KU. I went through recruitment last fall and got into a top house without a letter of rec! Keep an open mind and best of luck :)

KKG and PBP take mostly kansas city girls they know from highschool. Other than that you shouldn’t have a hard time!

I came from out of state with no letter of recs and didn't know anyone and I would say it was hard. The time you talk with that house is the one and only impression they have of you, so if they aren't sure about you they might not take you if they don't have opinions from other people. I ended up in a house where there are a lot of girls from out of state, which I love because there aren't previous cliques from high school. When going through recruitment, the girls I talked to at Kappa Kappa Gamma talked about how "nice it would be to have an out of state girl because there are so many KC girls," which was a reason I didn't really vibe with them because I wanted to meet more of a diverse group of women from all over.

It’s so hard to get in to a “top house” they’re really all KC girls who already all know each other. If you get in your the token out of state girl (probably with money and a super edited IG) sorry not sorry

you really shouldn't have trouble at all! there are still tons of girls rushing that are from out of state! its just really important to have decent grades and a good conversation. keep an open mind!

depends on the srat-- some are all KC girls some aren't. if it's the srat meant for you it won't matter that you're out of state

Out of the top houses I would say G phi and Theta have the most variety of girls from allover, KKG and Pi phi are mostly KC girls with random out of staters
