Why does nearly everyone outside of Greek life despise it so much? I never see any support for it outside of the Greek community. Common phrases I hear are “paying for friends” or “rich people that drink all day”. They hate on it so much and I’m just wondering why they do that?

because they are a) spiteful they didn’t get into one or b) can’t afford to be in one

it's kinda culty from an outside perspective (and i went to a single gender private catholic school - pretty culty). also a lot of ppl seem to only be friends with ppl inside their house/chapter meaning that a majority of the students saying stuff are looking from a different perspective
