pre-season sorority ranks

I found this on a comment and posted it because it's the best answer to the whole tier question and why:

After 2012-2013, here are the honest rankings (grades included) for the houses.

Top: Chi Omega, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Pi Beta Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta.
Middle: Delta Gamma, Kappa Delta, Delta Delta Delta, Sigma Kappa, Alpha Chi Omega.
Bottom: Alpha Delta Pi, Alpha Gamma Delta, Sigma Delta Tau.

These are honest rankings. I guarantee anyone in a sorority or a fraternity would agree with these.

Theta had a terrible rush but they have good grades. They might be moving to middle tier. Chi O, Pi Phi, and GPhi all had fantastic rushes. They aren't going anywhere. Kappa always has confusing pledge classes - glitter and glue. Half are awesome and half are a little on the odd side. They are solid top tier still.

As for the others, they will probably remain middle and bottom tier for a long time.

I agree but I don't think theta is going to be middle tier. Just bottom of the top.

If Kappa gets half and half, wouldn't they be middle tier? And not "solid top tier"?

I'm sorry but Kappa is always a top house at KU. I'm not a Kappa but I have great respect for them, for their history (both national and at KU) and for their alumnae support.

No way is Kappa a middle tier house.

Your top tier is spot on, although some might disagree with the order in which they are listed.
Still, if you are a PNM and you have any of these houses on bid day, you are in a great position! They are all excellent houses.

Alpha Gamma Delta just got a house and their numbers are rising. To say they will remain bottom teir is wrong.

what a joke. Bid process...lets face it the sorority picks you. The process is not a two way street. The next daughter I send to KU will graduate from a poorly ranked kansas high school in Johnson County. This way they stand a chance with rush
