overview of top tier
by: Jayhawk
At KU, there are 4 extremely solid houses that compose the top tier - Pi Beta Phi, Gamma Phi Beta, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Chi Omega. While they are all extremely solid houses, there are some differences between the houses. I thought it would be helpful to hash out some information about each house for PNMs.
Pi Beta Phi- Great house full of pretty girls. They're known as being snobby, but this is a pretty inaccurate stereotype. They are fun and know how to party, but grades aren't really their thing. Their house is beautiful and in an okay location.
Gamma Phi Beta- Another great house with beautiful girls. They are #3 on the hill for grades almost every semester, but they have a wonderful social life. They seem to be one of the most well rounded houses on campus. Their house is right on Jayhawk Blvd., so the location is perfect.
Kappa Kappa Gamma- This house has great traditions. They have been strong on campus for a long time. They have very eclectic pledge classes every year, but they have a great sisterhood. They aren't on the top for grades, but they aren't horrible. Their house isn't in a good location, but it is beautiful.
Chi Omega- Chi Omega is always either #1 or #2 for grades. They are beautiful girls and their sisterhood is strong. They have the most beautiful house on campus from the outside. They are a little less social than the other sororities because grades are such a priority. Overall, they are very classy, pretty and smart girls.

Kappa Alpha Theta is also a very good house. They have a very different "feel" than these sororities, though. They are either #1 or #2 on the hill for grades. Theta is much more relaxed and almost "hippy-esque." Overall, they are a very solid house as well and could easily be considered top tier.
