Just be yourself. Chapters can tell if you're pretending to be someone you're not or coming off as fake to try to impress them, so don't try too hard. If you connect with what you think are the "top houses," that's cool, but it's more important to find the place where you really feel at home, not just what you've heard is a good house. At the end of the day, recruitment is about sisterhood, not just being able to wear the letters of a "top house." If you just relax, breathe, and focus on the conversations you're having, you'll do great!

Obviously the more you know the better. It also depends on their pecking order within the house. The higher the better.

Yes this is true! If you have below a 3.0, you're gonna have a really hard time, but it's not completely impossible to get a house. That being said, if your high school GPA isn't solid, work on getting a good GPA in your first semester of college and then either do informal recruitment or wait until sophomore year to go through formal.
