opinions on the lili gagin situation?

I firmly believe in innocent until proven guilty, so it's wrong to just judge her without any judgment for the three men who CLEARLY consented to such an offensive picture, but if she really didn't take that picture and someone else posted it, that person should be ashamed. If she did post it, she got what she deserved. She represents this university and can't handle that responsibility. Was she in a sorority?

It just goes to show how sensitive of a world we live in now. The amount of uproar over something so minuscule compared to the real problems we face in this world is absurd.

Personally, I don't think that it was a huge deal. I think that what made it a big deal was the sensitivity of the subject right now. When you are a cheerleader you are held to a higher standard, representing the university. Same goes for being in a sorority. Granted, the part of this whole situation that bugged me the most was how she denied it. I personally believe that she WAS the one who posted it, and she should've taken responsibility for it instead of taking the easy way out.

Lili Gagin posted a tweet saying her Snapchat account was used by someone else. But one student wasn’t accepting that as an excuse.

“Pictures can’t really be hacked is my take on that,” Lewis said.

After speaking to students on campus, KSNT News found out Gagin is in Chi Omega Sorority. KSNT News reached out to the sorority’s recruitment chair, Alex Dahlgren, who didn’t want to go on camera. However, she told KSNT News the sorority doesn’t tolerate racism.

Dahlgren said they’re in the process of taking disciplinary action once Gagin returns to campus on Monday.

Some sororities will take any girl if she is a member of a spirit squad.... even if she has no common sense... and even if she is snaggletooth.

It's never appropriate to joke about the kkk. Good luck getting a job and thanks for giving KU a bad name.
