I will be a freshmen in the fall and hoping to join a fraternity. Do any of the fraternities have combined parties? Do fraternity guys ever hang out with their friends at other fraternities? Just wondering how exclusive one becomes when they join a frat.

Actually not really true - most older guys hang out with guys from other houses at bars

go through formal rush, all the house save at least 1 spot during the summer for it. Yes fraternities do joint parties with other frats and are not very exclusive at all once everyone is initiated.

Most of the frat guys I know usually never say anything good about other houses as they are in constant competition with each other so I would say no.
