sorority recruitment of girls not from ks

by:

Going to rush this upcoming fall. I am not from Kansas, however I have great grades and am very social. Also have an older sister who was very active at a Missouri school. Heard that if you aren't from Johnson County you may not get into one of your first choices, even if you are a legacy. Can anyone provide some insight?

I think it's safe to say every house, even top houses, take out of state girls. The important thing is just to have rec letters so the house can get a feel for you since other girls in the house won't know you. You gotta stand out from the pack and make an impression.

Letters of rec don't mean much, either does involvement. Not even grades if you know the right girls going into rush. It's a fact girls pick their friends, and many of the houses are full of Johnson County girls because that is the closest and biggest county. A lot of houses are just high school re-incarnate so you wouldn't want those houses anyway. If you really care about making friends and meeting new people pick a house where there is a bigger mix of girls. Some girls think they want a house based on reputation but end up being miserable when they are treated like outsiders.

She's still trying to make a case for why she didn't get a bid to her top choice. Ignore her posts. She's an idiot.

Being a legacy doesn't mean anything anymore either.
