Why does VT not have the "traditional" fraternity row? Many sites have described Oak Lane as looking like a minimum-security prison. Other say it resembles a public housing project. Even my tour guide in October said Oak Lane lacks any charm compared to other major university Greek areas. Thoughts?

Planning for making Oak Lane a respectable Greek housing presentation has been in the works for years. It probably won't happen for another 5-10 years because all current greek organizations are currently saving to build new houses.

Looks more promising now, they have where they are putting the new greek row and fraternities have the funds.
