does financial status matter?

I heard from one of my friends that alpha phi makes a big deal about how much money your parents have and they asked her on pref night what her dad did for a living. I'm from a lower middle class family, will this affect getting houses back and do other sororities pick girls based off of this?

why the eff would you wanna go a phi anyways if that's going to be such a big factor. the sorority you join should accept you no matter how much money you have
