sophomore seeking bid

how much harder is it for a sophomore to get a bid to a top/middle tier fraternity like Sigma Chi or Pi Kapp? Also, how much does knowing some brothers affect the process?

Being a sophomore makes very little difference. If you are social enough to join one of those organizations, you should be able to meet enough brothers during rush to get a bid.
