how competitive is formal recruitment?

by:

Do most people who stay through the whole week receive bids? How often to people who go through the entire process end up without a bid? Any advice is appreciated; I'm really nervous!

As long as you are open to every house and don't "suicide" at the very end (just writing down one house instead of ranking the two or three you probably still have), you have a VERY good chance of getting a bid somewhere. Out of the 20ish girls in my RG group only one didn't get a bid, she didn't even make it to sisterhood round. She never spoke a word to any of us though, so I'm guessing she was just way too shy at every house.

Some girls weren't happy in final round and dropped because they were left with houses they didn't want.

Are your chances of getting a bid greatly decreased if you're a sophomore?

I rushed as a sophomore and ways had a full schedule (max amount of houses you can see per day). Some sororities do care about the sophomore thing more than others, so don't be surprised if some that you felt went awesome don't ask you back, but we have enough sororities at tech who take a good amount of sophomores that you should be fine!

I rushed last year and received no bids from any houses.i got in during informal in the fall but still i cannot tell you why i was dropped back in the winter so it sometimes just has to do with luck and numbers

To Sophomorerushed and ..., you guys rushed in competitive recruitment in the spring right? So does that mean you guys were 2nd semester sophomores when you rushed?

I plan on transferring to tech for the 2015 fall term and I don't know if I should just rush informal in fall or wait for formal in the spring. Does either one give me a better chance to get a bid? Thanks!! :D
