delta gamma probation
by: VTCan anyone give more info about DG's probation? Are they still allowed to have socials and date parties? Does the probation lift completely in the fall or will they still be restricted?

From what I've heard they have a full year left on probation with no date parties or socials. They do have sober socials though. This may be incorrect, but it is what I have heard. If you are going through recruitment I'm sure DG is prepared to answer any questions pertaining to this topic

I heard DG goes back to regular socials in the fall. I know they have socials now but they are "dry". PNMs shouldn't judge the sorority on whether they can have alcohol at their socials since Tech Greek life in general is being carefully watched now because so many of the sororities and fraternities have had issues. DG just happened to take the fall. DG has a ton of hot girls and strong philanthropy and is still up with KD on the top of the rankings. Go with the sorority that has girls you feel most comfortable with - any sorority or fraternity could be on probation at any time - most have at some time or another.

Their probation will not be lifted until Spring 2016. They cannot have regular socials or date parties until then. However, this being said, they still have sober socials which are a great way to get to know people on a personal level. All of the sororities are supportive of them, because they know it could easily happen to them at any time.

They have socials now. They also have more girls as little sisters in fraternities than any other sorority. How can they get in trouble and this be the case?

DG is still a top sorority because they have gorgeous girls who are really chill and the frats definitely love them. They also have one of the top philanthropies on campus. They have been a top house for years and this hasn't changed. Their sisterhood is stronger than ever but they are very selective about their members and it is hard to get a bid with them. All of the other sororities are very supportive of DG since they know the same trouble could happen to any of us and Greek life at tech sticks together.

I think they still have sober socials (which is technically what all socials are supposed to be anyway), and will be back to regular socials in the fall. DG is so chill about this and managed to keep their top ranking and strong sisterhood so it speaks to how tight a house they are, especially for being hit on for something all of the sororities do. Most of the other sororities are supportive of DG knowing it could be them next. .Goes to show how strong the greek system is at Tech.
