Greek life participation from OOS

by: WestCoastBestCoast

I'm considering VT but also want to participate in Greek life. Will my options be very limited during rush because I'm from OOS and don't have any in-state connections? I'm just thinking about schools like Alabama, where your hometown directly impacts the houses that want you. If I go into rush at Virginia Tech with no pre-existing connections, am I cooked?

Also what are the house breakdowns like. In addition to geography, what others factors might come into play? Sports participation, majors, dorms, etc? I'm not a varsity athlete but will definitely try out for club sports, including a fall sport. Do teams tend to stick together?

Majority of houses at least for frats don’t care where you come from. As long as you aren’t a geed you should get a decent house.

Based of how you talk in this post I can sense that you’ll only get bids from bottom houses like DKE, Zeta Psi, OAK

Based on how you talk I’d guess you only get bids from the dying frats: oak, phi sig, tke, sig nu
