Hi PNMS! a few words of advice-
by: ww
I know you're tired, I know you just want to fast forward a couple weeks right now and see that it all works out. Don't worry it will. If you're struggling right now (even if you're struggling in a good way because you like too many houses! Which can be just as hard and is totally valid!) here is some advice.
You don't have to be in love with your sorority. You don't have to already know who your bridesmaids are going to be. You don't have to feel like you already met your big. Some people talk about the moment in recruitment where they "knew they were home". I didn't have that moment. I got my bid and I was happy, but it wasn't life-changing for me. Instead, it took time for me to feel at home. It took time for me to find my friends. It took time for me to really feel like I was in the right place. And that's fine! I gave it a shot and I grew to love my sorority, I found women I consider life long friends. But I also found women in other chapters I also consider life long friends. And outside of greek life.
The decisions you make during this process are overwhelming, and at the time it seems like you're defining your entire college career. Breathe. I'm telling you right now- it's going to be just fine.
I have nothing but good things to say about every single chapter at vt. I was on your side (pnm), I recruited (chapter side), and I was involved in Panhellenic. So I know aaaaaaaall about what you're going through.
If you have any questions or need to vent feel free!
It's going to be fine!
