Snap Bids and suicide ranking

wait so then if you put both sororities down and didn’t get your first choice but got your second, then you have to accept your second choice bid correct? so then i can’t get a snap bid? or can i still get a snap bid and choose between my second choice and the bid?

If you rank and get your second house on bid day don’t sign your bid day card and you can be eligible for snap bids and informal

When you rank your houses after pref, you sign the bid card - the
Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA). If you are matched with either your first or second house, that’s the bid you get. You wouldn’t get a snap bid if you already matched. If you reject the bid from your #2 house, the MRABA says that you have to wait a full year to go through Spring Formal Recruitment again. You would not be able to go through informal recruitment.

If you don’t sign the MRABA, you are dropping out of recruitment. At that point you can go through informal recruitment or be eligible for a snap bid. Snap bids are rare. Not very many chapters do informal recruitment. My chapter has done it twice in 4 years and had 40 girls trying for 3 spots.

If you were only invited to one pref party, put that house on your bid card, and sign the MRABA, you will get a bid to that house. This is different than suiciding.
