Bid promise inquiry!

What do I do if I was promised a bid? I’ve been told it’s not allowed but I also don’t want to be a snitch and get them in trouble. At the same time, I have been getting anxious because I think after she promised, I immediately put them as my top and would be devastated if they dropped me...
