by: SororityFYIIf you plan on rushing next month, there is something you ladies need to know. Every sorority has seen your application and have already determined which girls they want. I’m not saying that there is zero chance of you getting a bid from a sorority that isn’t focused on you. BUT, just know that they know who they want, might want, and don’t want. If anyone tells you differently, they are not being honest. Good luck and don’t focus on just one house. Keep an open mind.

Just as there is ranking between sororities, sororities rank the incoming girls. Yes, they do this before they meet you. Rushing is just a formality. They houses know who they want.

Yes, this is true. Some girls have a leg up bc of grades, looks, and even their major. Others have the advantage Bc they can dance! Kinda crazy but accurate.

They pre-rank the girls. Don’t get your heart set on any sorority. It’s pretty much decided already.

A lot has already been decided. The houses know who they want, so if you’re rushing, don’t think you did something wrong if you get dropped.

This is seriously so fake, don’t listen to them cause they clearly are not in Greek life and are trying to start drama and scare girls away. Focus on having a great week, finding girls you genuinely like, who most importantly see how amazing you are because you are amazing.

Yes it is true that people have pics and bios before, but that’s so little info and it’s impossible to truly know people until we meet them.

This is not fake. I’m in Greek life, and I’m glad this is out there. I don’t think the original post was intended to cause drama. I think she was just being real. I’m not a fan of what goes on behind the scenes. Good luck to everyone and don’t get too wrapped up in the process bc a lot is decided in advance.

Aphi internationals has an external prescore system, essentially a looks rank, that they push but not every chapter follows it. PNMs just go with your gut feeling you’ll know when a sorority has your best interest at heart

My sorority didn’t do this. Our nationals actually doesn’t allow us to project pictures. There’s always talk of who we want/don’t want but not every chapter sits down before recruitment and ranks all 1000+ pnms. I’m sure some/most of the chapters on campus do, but definitely not everyone.

Maybe not everyone....but your comment certainly confirms, again, that this happens. It is part of my chapter’s rush process, and it is what I don’t like about Greek life. I know for a fact that there are 8 houses that do this. These are just the ones I know for sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if all but a couple houses do this at VT. As one person commented, you are not all equal from the get go.

Certain girls are ‘targeted’ just as other girls are not. The sororitys do know who they definitely want, just as they already know who they do not want. Bios and pictures are submitted in advance, and we ‘rank’ or ‘order’ the girls. This is true, so now that the tea has been spilled, the rushees need to keep an open mind because you are not all equal. Also, do you really want to be in a sorority that doesn’t want you?!
