Only the fraternities that are desperate for pledges will give a junior a bid

Can a member join SigEp as a junior or senior and still reach the Brother Mentor Challenge?

Yes. If a member is a junior or older, he can demonstrate which requirements he has met for the first three challenges. The timeframes for the challenges can be waived, and he can complete the remaining requirements in a shorter amount of time. However, he still needs a four-six week on boarding process to become acquainted with SigEp and the members of the chapter.

So would somewhere like theta chi or phi Delt be reasonable to rush as a junior?

In general the best way to look at it is by asking yourself: are you worth it? If you are a person who can bring enough to the table to cancel out the fact that the fraternity will only have you as an active brother for 3 semesters. If you are a cool enough dude to where they don't care about that, then they will give you a bid. Its as simple as that.

Being a junior hurts your chances, but doesn't necessarily mean you won't get a bid. Some fraternities have a higher percentage vote majority when it comes to juniors. So it doesn't hurt to try.

I pledged my Junior Year and was welcomed and loved from day one. Do not let that hold you back! Good Luck

When a young man joins Sigma Phi Epsilon, he discovers something unique. Through the Balanced Man Program (BMP) chapter, he immediately becomes a brother. The BMP eliminates pledging from the chapter experience, and puts an emphasis on continued development throughout college and beyond.

Why do Sigeps have the reputation that they smoke so much weed?
