sophomore

by: nextyear

So I didn't go through formal recruitment because I wanted to colonize with Alpha Chi Omega, but I didn't get an invitation from Alpha Chi Omega so my question is: how hard would it be for me to rush as a sophomore? What things do sororities look for?

I honestly thought I was a good enough person with good EC, grades, but I think I really messed up during the interview. Please don't think of me as a person who wasn't good enough for AXO so I won't be good enough for any of the other sororities.

What a lot of girls didn't realize with the AXO interviews is that they wanted a mix of freshmen, sophomores, and juniors so that everyone wouldn't graduate at the same time. There were WAY more freshmen girls interviewing, so it was much more competitive for freshmen.

Try to meet girls in each house this year, and get alumni recs if you can before recruitment next year.

Even in formal recruitment this year, the majority of girls were sophomores. You'll be among the majority if you try again next year and there's also informal recruitment sometimes during spring semester. I rushed as a junior and didn't have a problem. When you find a house where you feel comfortable, you don't have to worry about anything other than being yourself- that way, you'll be sure you end up in the right place.

if you didn't get in the new one, good luck getting in elsewhere unless you're cool with pi phi or aephi

What's so wrong with Pi phi and aephi? They're newest pledges classes are great, and their sisterhood is awesome.
