what happened with dg, dz and sigma chi?

Can someone (a non-troll) please tell me what happened? I'm hearing that this is a hyped up situation that wasn't even really hazing. Is this true? Please serious answers only.

First comment is exactly what happend. Sigma chi had done npthing wrong prior so if what they did wasnt messed up then why was it a 3 year ban?
