I think the big difference between this and AXO is the timing. AXO’s scandal definitely happened in the wake of SO much racial unrest, and theirs just seemed to add insult to injury. It was also in the summer, meaning it was right before recruitment, so it was still fresh in pnm’s minds. While I think (and hope) theta will suffer the consequences of this, I’m not sure it will be as extreme as AXO’s. Part of it is of course the privilege of being a top sorority, but it’s also important to recognize the role timing played in this.
