why do frats care about sorority relations?

Why do fraternities strive to improve sorority relations when they're pretty a pretty terrible group of girls to pull from? By terrible I mean: brainwashed, cliquey, superficial, followers. Sure there's some leaders...but not many.
I'm in a fraternity that's throws a lot of smaller events/interdates with another sorority...but I just don't get it. The best girls on campus I've met were GDIs....

girls tend to be pack animals and need to be in a group sororities give them a sense of belonging that they may not be able to get otherwise, also joining a sorority is a great opportunity for girls to get in situations where they can meet a man who can provide so dad doesn't have to anymore, GDI girls can be appealing because they have more of a personality while being individuals the one con is they tend to be uglier
