will gpa terminate my chances?
by: UConn2596Hello! Okay so, I've been dreaming about rushing since fall of last year and I finally get a chance to find my house this September! Very exciting. However, I had a really rough first semester and didn't get a great GPA (chem and bio at the same time :/ ) but, I've recovered and last semester earned a 3.0 for it. Overall, it's now a 2.36 which according to college board is a C+ average. I had a 4.4/5 weighted GPA in high school and had great involvement, but does none of it matter in comparison to one bad semester? I'd love to know your thoughts, perhaps I'll be a little less anxious.

You're probably going to get automatically rejected from most if not all due to GPA requirements. I would highly suggest retaking one or two of the bad classes at a community college or Uconn branch over the winter or summer, not just to rush but for yourself. If not, just do your best this semester and rush in the spring.

I wouldn't completely count yourself out!! Yes chapters do look at your GPA but if you have a great first day of recruitment some chapters might overlook your GPA. I suggest going for it, because only a handful of sororities do spring recruitment so better try now than not try at all, good luck!!
