rushing as a sophmore
by: EllaI was planning to rush this year as a freshman but due to unforeseen circumstances, I wasn’t able to. What are the chances that I’ll be able to get houses back if i rush as a sophomore? how much more difficult will it be?

honestly, your chances aren't as good. Most house just initated upwards of 175+ new members and a house will always give preference to a freshman over a sophomore since they will be around longer. Your best bet is to try to get to know girls in the house(s) that you are interested in. I don't think a lot of houses (if any) will be extended bids in the Spring for COB since the Fall 2024 pc's were huge.

pls don’t listen to the person above 😭😭 as someone who rushed as a sophomore, is in an upper mid house, and has now been on the other side of recruitment, no one is sitting there dropping girls cause they’re a year older. pretty much everything that decides if you come back to a house or not the next day is determined based off your convos with the actual girls and your ranking, not your grade in school or other superficial things

Im not 100% sure about this but I think that rankings are based off socials, connections(knowing girls in houses), convos, and like overall vibe. The ranking determines if you get a bid back from a house I think? So if a girl is high on a sorority's ranking but decided not to bid there like the next girl in line gets the bid. I’m pretty sure every girl a house is interested in gets ranked.

Ella is right girls are ranked top to bottom so yes, there is someone who is at the very bottom of the bid list, but only actives know the order of the ranking.
i am in a top house and we extend bids to freshman and sophomores who know someone in the house.

at ella- some houses def will look at your socials and number of followers but not every house

what i meant by socials is like alc/inappropriate stuff which sororities usually check for but yes some sororities check for follower count as well.
